The values of NARTURAA
Creativity and Joy
What would life be without creativity and joy, right? Ah, this feeling of harmony and bliss when my hands are occupied creating. If you're an artist or any kind of creator, you know very well what I mean! Rest assured that all the products of NARTURAA are brought into life from the flow of creative expression and deep joy. I hope they will bring along some of this energy when they find a new home ☯

As opposed to the fast-fashion and frenzied overconsumption that is taking over the world, NARTURAA stands by slow production, mindful consumption and an eco-conscious lifestyle. Creating unique garments from good-quality materials offers durability and a longer shelf-life. By repurposing fabrics and other materials, most of the items produced are one-of-a-kind and never go out of style.
Slow, Authentic and Ethically-produced
Slow-fashion is always in fashion!

One garment, one story
Handmade
Mass production has definetely solved a lot of problems in the world. But it has driven us away from the pleasure of handcrafting. There is no doubt anymore that crafting with your hands offers a wide range of mental and psychological benefits ; from lowering depression and anxiety to improving cognitive function. Thankfully, nowadays handmade products are deeply appreciated and many people choose handmade over mass-produced.
At NARTURAA, all the products are handcrafted, by incorporating a variety of materials and traditional craft techniques. If you're curious about the craft techniques that I am using, you can read more details

Sustainability & Eco-Living

Climate change is apparent and it affects every aspect of our lives. Expressing my creative passion in ways that are in harmony with the health of our Earth is among my top priorities. I carefully choose all the materials that I use, opting for natural, recycled or second-hand. I'm striving to create a limited amount of waste and find creative ways to use all my waste yarn and textiles.

"Because we have been disconnected from the impacts our clothes have on land, air, water, labor, and our own human health for such a long time, we've been lulled into a passive, non-questioning state of being as consumers. When we begin reconnecting these dots, however, we create opportunities to build new relationships that are rooted in sharing skills, physical labor, and creativity, all of which carry meaning, purpose, and a way to belong to one another and to the land."
Rebecca Burgess, the "Fibershed"
Cultural Heritage Preservation
I come from a lineage of crafters. Both my grandmothers were seamstresses and handiwork artisans. It’s no surprise that I am following the same path. Although their lives were full of hardships and crafting was a necessary tool for survival, nowadays this is not the case. My vision is to rewrite the narrative of 'crafting for survival' to 'crafting for joy'. By keeping these traditions alive, I honour the wisdom of my ancestors shifting their abundant knowledge into new directions.

Community
Being part of a community of humans who care about the health of our planet and lead a more holistic lifestyle... Yes, that's all I need!
NARTURAA is here to inspire, raise awareness and pass along the knowledge of various crafting techniques.
